The Dutch outlet yesterday spoke to Ajax’s star striker Kasper Dolberg, who has caught the attention of many of Europe’s finest, having scored an impressive 22 goals in 46 appearances this season. 15 of those goals have come in the Eredivisie for an Ajax side that find themselves one point behind league leaders Feyenoord with just one game remaining.
Ahead of the crunch tie away to Willem II tomorrow, the Danish sensation was asked about his future amid interest from both Manchester clubs, with the 19-year-old committed to the club that gave him his big break having signed him from Silkeborg IF in 2015.
“I will stay next season at Ajax”, Dolberg told Elf Voetball.
“That is, if I can stay … I want to draw a line under this season. I want to get better and score more goals.”
The hint of a possible departure given above is negated by the presumed hefty price tag that Ajax would place on the teenager, who at such a young age can only grow in stature and value.
Jose Mourinho and co. will get a first-hand look at that potential at the Europa League final on Wednesday, May 24 at the Friends Arena near Stockholm, Sweden.
